Fibra entrecruzada e irregular, a veces ondulada, y textura basta de tacto áspero. Albura pálida y claramente diferenciada del duramen. Gran resistencia en todos los campos. Se requiere mucho lijado para obtener un acabado liso a causa de su elevada densidad y fibra entrecruzada. No presenta problemas ni para el clavado y atornillado ni para el encolado.

Características Tarima Sucupira

Aserrado: Sin más problemas que su dureza y los de su cierta abrasividad
Secado: Medio a lento. Riesgos ligeros de deformaciones y fendas.
Cepillado: Difícil por su dureza, abrasividad y por el riesgo de repelo en piezas con fibra entrelazada. Conviene realizar la mecanización muy lentamente.
Encolado: Los taninos dificultan una buena adherencia.
Clavado y atornillado: Por su dureza, conviene realizar pretaladros.
Acabado: No presenta problemas especiales
Carpintería de interior, puertas, escaleras, revestimientos, molduras, rodapiés, frisos, parquet.
